About My Yoga Classes

Check out my upcoming yoga classes here

Having suffered from anxiety for most of my life, I turned to yoga in my early 20s as a form of stress relief. I was amazed at how supported and relaxed I felt after even the most gentle yoga practice. I completed the 200-hour yoga teacher training certification program at the Lotus Centre in London Ontario in 2008, and since then I have been teaching yoga at a variety of studios around London.

I am very passionate about providing yoga classes that are accessible to everyone – regardless of your level of flexibility or experience (I can’t even touch my toes!). I truly believe that everyone can do yoga, and I design my classes to make this belief a reality.

I offer two specialized classes: Yoga for Anxiety & Stress, and Yoga for Mood Management. In these classes, I combine my training in Psychology with both my yoga training and my personal experience to provide participants with practical tools to help manage their stress and mood.

  • Yoga for Anxiety & Stress. Are you uptight, high strung, or stressed out? Stifle your stress with this class, which provides a series of poses that are specifically designed to reduce anxiety and leave you feeling grounded, centered, and peaceful. All levels of yoga experience are welcome.
  • Yoga for Mood Management. Are you feeling low? Manage your mood with this class, which provides a series of poses that are specifically designed to boost your mood and leave you feeling uplifted, happy, and full of joy. All levels of yoga experience are welcome.

My yoga classes are gentle and accessible for beginners as well as advanced practitioners. One of the reasons you don’t see any pictures of me doing advanced poses on this website is that I don’t want you to think you need to be able to twist yourself into a pretzel to attend my classes. And while many people, including myself, embrace the philosophical aspects of yoga, you don’t need to be spiritual or religious to attend my classes either.

I'm currently a postdoctoral research fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where I direct research for the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health's Institute for Extraordinary Living Yoga in the Schools program, which evaluates yoga for child and adolescent mental health. I feel it is part of my life’s purpose to not only help others realize the benefits of a regular yoga practice, but to also support the recognition of yoga among the scientific community.

I can say without hesitation that yoga has transformed my life. And it can transform yours too.
